Within the science team at Ark Bolingbroke Academy, this permanent post leads Key Stage 5 teaching and learning for A-Level and BTEC students, reporting to the Head of Science. The work centres on setting standards across the wider science teaching team, with responsibility for long-term planning, lesson preparation and accountability for student progress. A teaching and learning responsibility allowance is attached, and experience of coordinating BTEC provision is an advantage. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What’s required
Experience
- Proven track record of raising pupil attainment in Science
- Some experience of leading and coaching others
Skills & knowledge
- Ability to motivate and challenge learners of all abilities across Key Stages 3 to 5
- Passion for the subject evident in classroom practice
- Strong IT, administrative and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children and adults
Other
- High levels of ambition and optimism about what the Academy and its pupils can achieve
Nice to have
- Experience of coordinating BTEC qualifications
