The People Directorate of University Schools Trust is recruiting an HR Business Partner to act as the HR lead for a portfolio of schools and their senior leaders. The work spans strategic and operational HR, from complex employee relations cases and restructures to workforce planning and leadership development. Each day is varied and largely autonomous, suiting someone comfortable with difficult conversations and balanced professional judgement. Visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Provide strategic and operational HR support across allocated schools
- Advise Headteachers, Principals and senior leaders with challenge and expert guidance on people matters
- Lead complex employee relations cases
- Support school restructures and organisational change programmes
- Support workforce planning and analyse workforce trends
- Deliver management training and leadership development
- Advise on succession planning and organisational development
- Collaborate with colleagues across the wider People Team
- Manage a varied and often complex workload autonomously
What’s required
Experience
- Experienced HR professional with strategic and operational people management experience
- Experience as an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor, HR Manager, Employee Relations Specialist or Senior People Partner
Skills & knowledge
- Excellent professional judgement

- Building trusted relationships at all levels
- Comfort having difficult conversations and supporting leaders through complex workforce issues
Nice to have
- Experience within education, public sector, not-for-profit or similarly complex environments
