The post is maternity cover in the kitchen team at De Lisle College, a Catholic school within the St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi Academy Trust. It supports the team in serving food, basic preparation, cleaning and setting up dining spaces, with hygiene standards central throughout. The work mixes kitchen tasks with serving and dining-room cleaning, and the post can start as soon as possible. Previous catering experience is preferred rather than required, and visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Supporting the kitchen team to deliver food service, with hygiene and customer service standards
- Basic food preparation such as washing, peeling and chopping ingredients
- Serving food and drinks to customers
- Cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils and dining areas
- Setting up and clearing service areas and dining spaces
- Washing up and keeping a clean, safe working environment
- Supporting stock rotation and deliveries
- Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures
