Greenshaw High School is recruiting a fixed-term Learning Support Assistant to work with students who have special educational needs and disabilities, alongside their class teachers. The post centres on building students' independence through scaffolded learning, self-regulation and intervention sessions for selected pupils. It also includes support during exams and assessments, and suits someone with prior experience of working with young people in an educational, care or youth setting. Visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Support learning and foster students' independence

Experience
- Proven experience working with children or young people in an educational, care or community or youth setting
Skills & knowledge
- Ability to engage and motivate students who may present challenging behaviour
- Ability to stay professional when facing emotive and distressing difficulties
- Ability to communicate professionally, clearly and sensitively with colleagues and parents
