This senior, hands-on post leads the Windows and Apple engineering team at University of Wales Trinity Saint David, reporting to the Head of Endpoint & Digital Support Systems. The work covers managing and securing the university's staff and student devices across Windows, macOS, iOS and iPadOS, using Intune, Configuration Manager and Jamf. The role combines line management and technical leadership with setting cross-platform standards and acting as senior escalation for complex incidents. Deep Microsoft or Apple endpoint experience is wanted, and visa sponsorship may be possible.
What the job involves
- Lead the management, security and ongoing development of the university's endpoint services
- Line manage and provide technical leadership to the Windows and Apple engineering team
- Manage Windows, macOS, iOS and iPadOS devices across Intune, Configuration Manager and Jamf
- Translate strategy into delivery and coordinate service improvements
- Establish cross-platform standards
- Oversee endpoint security controls, including encryption, patching, anti-malware, configuration baselines and vulnerability management
- Act as senior escalation point for complex incidents and coordinate teams to resolve them
- Drive continual service improvement
- Support the evolution of the endpoint environment through automation, standardisation and self-service
- Engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience
- Substantial experience managing enterprise endpoint services
- Experience of technical leadership, team management and incident resolution
Skills & knowledge
- Expertise in Microsoft Intune and Configuration Manager, or Apple endpoint management using Jamf
- Endpoint security, device lifecycle management and service improvement
- Communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have
- Experience across both Microsoft and Apple environments
- Relevant technical certifications
