This Registered General Nurse post with SpaMedica sits within its Carlisle Hospital cluster, which covers several sites and NHS eye care. The work covers administering medicines under NMC guidance, caring for patients through diagnostic tests and post-operative recovery, and running theatre-day admissions and discharges. The role is full-time at 37.5 hours over four of six days, with shifts from 7:30am to 5:30pm, and includes mentoring colleagues. Applicants need a valid NMC PIN and 6-12 months' post-registration experience, and the post requires a DBS check.
What the job involves
- Provide all patient care while in hospital, including diagnostic tests and post-operative care
- Administer medicines in line with NMC guidance on safe and secure handling
- Admit and discharge patients on theatre days
- Assist with stock control, keeping realistic par levels so items are available
- Protect patient confidentiality under the Data Protection Act and GDPR
- Support and mentor colleagues and new staff
