Clanmil Housing Group is building a reserve list of care assistants for its two Belfast care homes, De la Cour House and Giboney House. The work covers personal care and support for older residents, plus meal preparation and general housekeeping. Successful applicants join a pool for future vacancies rather than one fixed post, with an extra night shift rate in the pay. Registration with the NI Social Care Council is needed, or must be completed by the time of offer, and sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Provide a range of care and support services to residents
- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals
- Carry out general housekeeping tasks
Registration & licences
- Registered with the NI Social Care Council, or prepared to register at the time of offer
Experience
- Previous experience of caring for older people
Skills & knowledge
- Verbal communication in English with the client group
- Literacy skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Empathy, compassion and a genuine caring nature
- Understanding of promoting independence, choice and dignity
Checks & eligibility
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship offered)
Nice to have
- NVQ level 2 in a relevant subject, such as care
- Experience of working with people with dementia
