Vertas Group's Passenger Transport Team is recruiting a private hire driver to carry children to and from school. Daily work involves punctual pick-ups and drop-offs for pupils, many with special educational needs, keeping the vehicle clean and safe under safeguarding procedures. It is part-time, 25 hours a week over 38 weeks, with early-morning and mid-afternoon shifts. Candidates need a West Suffolk Private Hire Licence or must agree to a training bond to obtain one.
What the job involves
- Safely transport children between home and school
- Ensure punctual collection and drop-off
- Maintain a clean and safe vehicle
- Follow safeguarding, duty of care and passenger transport procedures at all times
What’s required
Registration & licences
- West Suffolk Private Hire Licence, or willingness to obtain one
- Full UK driving licence
Experience
- Experience in a driving or customer-facing role

- Enhanced DBS check, declaring cautions and convictions not protected by filtering rules
