Pathway Support sits within the Imaging Business Unit at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust, supporting patient scheduling and reception for the department. The core work is booking patients for diagnostic tests across X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine and bone density, alongside administrative and clerical support. The unit runs from two acute hospitals and seven community sites, and the post requires working across the Trust's sites. Sponsorship may not be offered, so check visa eligibility before applying.
What the job involves
- Schedule patients for diagnostic tests across Imaging clinical areas
- Provide reception duties for patients
- Provide administration and clerical support for scheduling
- Work across UHDB sites as required
What’s required
Qualifications
- GCSE English Language at a good standard or equivalent
- GCSE Mathematics or equivalent
Experience
- Previous customer care experience in a busy environment, or call handling and reception experience
- Recent knowledge of administrative procedures
- Experience using IT and/or appointment systems (training given)
Skills & knowledge
- Confident verbal and written communication with staff and patients
- Experience working with different IT systems and managing data
- Good working knowledge of MS Office
- Experience handling data from electronic and paper sources
- Experience prioritising workload and managing multiple tasks
- Working under pressure and with minimal supervision
Nice to have
- Understanding of the 18-week RTT process
- Knowledge and experience of Imaging-based IT
