Braintree Mews Care Home, part of Avery Healthcare Group, is recruiting a Housekeeping Assistant to keep the home's cleaning and laundry at the standard its procedures set. The work centres on cleaning to worksheet instructions, working to hotel-style service standards, and protecting residents' dignity and personal belongings. It suits someone who has already worked on laundry in a public setting and knows health and safety basics such as moving and handling and fire safety. A disclosure check is required, paid for by the employer.
What the job involves
- Maintain cleanliness and laundry standards across the home as part of a team
- Operate to the standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry, maintaining hotel service standards
- Carry out all cleaning duties in line with worksheet instructions
- Apply knowledge of cleaning requirements for different surfaces, coverings and cleaning materials
- Keep areas well presented and maintained in good condition
- Treat residents with dignity and respect, including their personal space and belongings
Experience
- Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting
Skills & knowledge
- Knowledge of health and safety, particularly moving and handling, fire safety and COSHH assessments
- Compassion and commitment to delivering high-quality housekeeping and laundry service to residents
- Ability to be adaptive and flexible, covering a range of responsibilities at short notice
