What the job involves
- Oversee the housekeeping and laundry cleaning service, supporting the hospitality services function
- Carry out all cleaning duties set out in the housekeeping job description
- Prepare orders for Home Manager approval for cleaning materials from approved suppliers
- Maintain appropriate stock levels and control, keeping purchases within agreed budget limits
- Monitor the work of the housekeeping and laundry team to maintain high cleanliness standards
- Supervise and direct the housekeeping team
- Instruct and demonstrate cleaning tasks and materials to new staff
Experience
- Experience of cleaning and managing laundry in a public setting
Skills & knowledge
- Knowledge of health and safety
- Knowledge of moving and handling techniques
- Knowledge of fire safety
- Knowledge of COSHH assessments
- Ability to lead, supervise and develop teams
