A Healthcare Assistant post on the surgical ward at Spire South Bank Hospital, a private hospital. The role works alongside nursing staff, supporting and monitoring patients and helping the ward team provide their care. It is a full-time permanent post of 37.5 hours a week. Previous HCA or equivalent clinical experience decides fit.
What the job involves
- Assisting the surgical ward team in providing patient care
- Contributing to the support and monitoring of patients
- Identifying and reporting significant changes to patients' health and wellbeing to the appropriate person
- Assisting with moving patients in line with hospital policies
Experience
- Previous experience as an HCA or equivalent in a clinical environment
- Experience of ECGs, taking blood and blood pressures, and patient observations
Skills & knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Nice to have
- NVQ Level 3, or NVQ Level 2/3 as stated in the person specification
