The work covers safe driving, pre-use vehicle checks, keeping the fleet roadworthy and logging mileage and inspection records. It is a casual contract rather than a fixed post. Applicants need a full clean licence with minibus entitlement and an enhanced DBS check; visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Drive the academy minibus safely, following road traffic law, licensing rules and academy procedures
- Transport students to and from academy activities, educational visits and approved destinations
- Carry out pre-use vehicle safety inspections and report defects, damage or concerns promptly
- Keep academy vehicles roadworthy, clean and legally compliant
- Keep accurate vehicle records, mileage logs and inspection documentation
- Plan safe, efficient routes that account for traffic and weather
Experience
- Experience of driving passenger vehicles safely and responsibly
Skills & knowledge
- Knowledge of road traffic regulations and safe driving practice
- Understanding of health and safety requirements for passenger transport
Checks & eligibility
- Full, clean UK driving licence with minibus entitlement
- Enhanced DBS check
