This Clinical Exercise Physiologist post sits in the Wirral cardiovascular rehabilitation service at Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, also supporting the bariatric exercise pathway for its weight management service. The core work is co-ordinating, delivering and developing a cardiac rehabilitation and prevention programme within a multi-disciplinary team. The split across cardiac and bariatric clients sets this apart from a single-pathway role. Fit turns on a 2:1 BSc in Exercise Physiology or a closely related subject.

- Minimum 2:1 BSc in Exercise Physiology or closely related subject
Experience
- Facilitating group and individual exercise sessions for different client or patient groups
- Facilitating group education sessions
Skills & knowledge
- Knowledge of the Nursing 6 C's
- Up-to-date knowledge of national and local strategies to reduce cardiovascular disease
- Excellent communication skills
- Working as part of a team
- Working both under direction and independently
- Working under pressure

- Evidence of postgraduate study in relevant subject areas
- Exercise instructor qualifications
- Immediate Life Support qualification
- Membership of the British Association of Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR)
- Facilitating exercise tolerance testing for diagnostic and prescriptive purposes
- Experience of working within a cardiovascular rehabilitation setting
- Experience of managing a clinical caseload
- Recording and interpreting 12-lead ECGs
