Reception post at Lift Bexleyheath, a secondary school, where the holder is the first point of contact for visitors, parents and pupils. Day-to-day work covers signing people in, handling calls and the main inbox, booking appointments and rooms, post and deliveries, and general admin support. The role also carries first aid training and care of students, staff and visitors when needed. Start is December 2026 and visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Welcome visitors, parents, students and staff, signing them in and out
- Answer calls and manage the main email account, routing enquiries to the right staff
- Coordinate appointments, meetings and room bookings
- Keep the reception area organised and welcoming
- Handle post, packages and deliveries
- Order supplies and resources as needed
- Complete first aid training and give first aid to students, staff and visitors
- Keep accurate health and safety records
- Support the wider team with data entry, photocopying and admin tasks
What’s required
Experience
- Experience in a customer-facing or reception role, welcoming people and managing enquiries
Skills & knowledge
- Good IT skills, including email and office software
- Strong organisation and time management in a busy, changing environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional approach
- Genuine passion for working with and supporting children and young people
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child
- Proactive and reliable, able to work independently and as part of a team
