Registration & licences
- NMC registration with a valid licence to practise
Experience
- Minimum of 12 months post-qualification experience (15 months for newly qualified nurses, including 3 months preceptorship)
- At least 6 months recent acute hospital experience within the last 18 to 24 months
Skills & knowledge
- Training required by the ward or department, such as IV drug administration, venepuncture and ECG
- Competence in relevant clinical skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with patients, carers and the MDT
- Computer skills
- Clinical decision-making ability
- Ability to lead, initiate and ensure appropriate action in response to the deteriorating patient
Nice to have
- Teaching and assessing qualification (998 or equivalent)
