What the job involves
- Act as person in charge, standing in for the Manager and acting on their behalf when required
- Ensure high standards of care for residents
- Carry out nursing tasks including medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and management of chronic conditions
- Deploy and supervise care team staff so that tasks are completed and residents receive required care
- Carry out accurate assessment and care planning
- Advise families of residents and GPs of changes in condition that cause concern, keeping them involved in choices about ongoing care
