Home Manager post at Strathview, a 25-bed residential and dementia care home run by Care UK, a private provider with over 250 homes. The role covers the day-to-day running of the home, leading all staff, keeping the service compliant with regulation and managing its budget and accounts. It is a single-site leadership role in a dementia setting, with strong relationships to build with families and local agencies. Candidates need at least two to three years as a home manager, with older people in residential or dementia care.
What the job involves
- Take responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day running of the home, aiming for an industry-leading standard
- Provide leadership and effective management for all staff in the home
- Promote a caring environment that follows current guidelines, best practice and legislative and regulatory requirements
- Ensure effective financial and commercial management of the home in line with company policy
- Maintain a high level of satisfaction with the service
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with relatives, residents, purchasers and external agencies to protect the home's local reputation
What’s required
Experience
- 2-3+ years' experience as a home manager
- Experience caring for older people in residential and dementia settings
Skills & knowledge
- Ability to control and manage a budget and accounts
- Knowledge of the Care Standards Act
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation
- Ability to raise standards through innovation and new ideas
