This Attendance and Admissions Officer post sits within the attendance and admissions team at Harris Girls' Academy East Dulwich, a term-time role. The work centres on daily attendance and punctuality monitoring, following up absence with parents and carers, and making early calls for children in care and vulnerable students. The post is also the main contact for admissions, transition and induction events. Applicants need three years in an inner-city school and degree-level or equivalent qualifications; visa sponsorship is not available.
What the job involves
- Daily monitoring and follow-up of attendance and punctuality
- Contacting parents and carers of absent students and recording reasons for absence where given
- Early monitoring and calls on children in care and students on the vulnerable list, reporting daily to the Academy Welfare manager
- Main point of contact for admissions, transition and student induction events with parents, students, staff and the Local Authority
- Assisting ALG in managing and developing attendance and punctuality policies
Qualifications
- Degree-standard or equivalent qualifications
Experience
- Three years working in an inner-city school or educational establishment
- Experience of working with students from a range of ethnic backgrounds
Skills & knowledge
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft software
- Knowledge of MIS for inputting and exporting student attendance data
