The Housekeeping Assistant role sits in the housekeeping and laundry team at Amarna House Care Home, run by Avery Healthcare Group. The work centres on keeping the home clean and laundry up to standard, following worksheets and set procedures while respecting residents' dignity. It is a day shift from 8:00am to 4:30pm and calls for someone who can cover varied tasks at short notice. A DBS check and proof of right to work are required.
What the job involves
- Carry out cleaning duties in line with worksheet instructions
- Keep the home clean and laundry to the required standard
- Work to the home's standard operating procedures for housekeeping and laundry
- Maintain hotel-style service standards
- Use suitable cleaning materials and methods for different surfaces and coverings, leaving areas well presented and in good condition
- Treat residents with dignity and respect, including their personal space and belongings
Experience
- Experience of cleaning laundry in a public setting
Skills & knowledge
- Knowledge of health and safety, including moving and handling techniques
- Knowledge of fire safety and COSHH assessments
- Compassionate approach and commitment to high-quality housekeeping and laundry service
- Adaptable and flexible, able to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice
