The Ministry of Justice is recruiting prison officers for HMP Eastwood Park, a women's prison. The work combines keeping the prison safe with building constructive relationships with women in custody, often switching between peacekeeping, counselling and teaching in one day. It is a merit vacancy: successful assessment candidates join a list and are offered posts as they arise, with rotating shifts covering evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays. Visa sponsorship is unlikely for this campaign, so applicants must already have the right to work in the UK.
