OUR HOTEL RESTAURANT

Gotts Bar & Kitchen is a vibrant, contemporary restaurant at the heart of The Met Leeds, offering modern, locally sourced cuisine in a relaxed and distinctive setting.

Following its recent reimagining, we are looking for a passionate Restaurant Supervisor to help bring the Gotts experience to life.

You will support the Front of House team in delivering warm, engaging service, maintaining high standards and ensuring the restaurant’s unique character and identity shine through in every guest experience.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RESTAURANT SUPERVISOR AT THE MET HOTEL, LEEDS

As a Restaurant Supervisor at Gotts Bar & Kitchen, you’ll be a key part of bringing our vibrant, contemporary restaurant to life.

From the first coffee of the day through to lunch, dinner and evening drinks, you’ll lead from the front, creating a warm, energetic and memorable experience for every guest.

With a focus on modern, locally sourced cuisine, relaxed service and the distinctive personality of Gotts, you’ll support the Restaurant & Bar Manager in leading, developing and inspiring the Front of House team, maintaining high standards and ensuring every service runs smoothly.

With a sharp eye for detail, a proactive approach and a genuine passion for hospitality, you’ll help shape an experience that keeps guests coming back.

  • What you’ll do
  • Lead the front-of-house team with energy, style, and a personal touch, making sure every guest is greeted with warmth and served with excellence across breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.
  • Maintain a high standard of service throughout all dining experiences, ensuring each guest feels like they're at the heart of something special and unique.
  • Oversee daily restaurant operations, from setting up for service to managing floor plans, ensuring smooth service and that every detail is accounted for.
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant & Bar Manager to continuously improve service and efficiency, while staying ahead of trends and finding ways to elevate the dining experience.
  • Train and develop the team, ensuring they have the skills, confidence, and passion to deliver a service that’s second to none.
  • Stay on top of inventory and stock, ensuring the dining area is well-stocked, clean, and organized, with an eye for quality and consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and clean environment for both guests and staff.
  • Act as the face of the restaurant, creating an atmosphere that’s not just stylish but full of life, charm, and energy throughout all service periods.

To succeed in the role of Restaurant Supervisor, you will need the following qualities and skills:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a fast-paced restaurant, with a clear passion for delivering outstanding service.
  • A natural leader with exceptional communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire your team, creating an environment that’s both lively and professional.
  • A love for food and hospitality, with a good knowledge of current food trends, service standards, and menu offerings.
  • A strong interest in cocktails and drinks, with a good understanding of classic and contemporary cocktails, confident knowledge of ingredients and techniques, and a passion for delivering a well-crafted drinks experience.
  • The ability to juggle multiple tasks with finesse and ease, from managing the team to maintaining service flow and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • A flair for style and detail, ensuring the restaurant and service always reflect the vibrant, well-crafted atmosphere of the hotel.
  • A proactive approach, always ready to step in and solve problems, keeping the guest experience front and centre.
  • An eye for quality, making sure every dish and drink that reaches the guest meets our high standards.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for the hospitality industry, with a passion for creating memorable, authentic dining experiences.
