Venue Sales Executive – Job Description

What will you be doing?
Driving revenue by selling the Mermaid London as an event venue through converting enquiries into leads, upselling events, and managing the relationship pre-arrival. To liaise with clients, post-event, and maximise opportunities for future business. Acting as an ambassador for the venue ensuring that a positive brand image is strengthened and maintained in all interactions with customers.
Your responsibilities
• In conjunction with the sales manager and sales team, implement The Mermaid London’s sales strategy to drive revenue and business growth.
• To achieve with your colleagues the yearly budget set by the senior team.
• Achieve and exceed individual targets set within the quarterly sales meetings or by the management team.
• Follow sales procedures, ensuring all quotations and leads are responded to within 2 hours
• Manage a portfolio of existing clients to encourage repeat and new business.
• Actively follow up on enquiries and bookings to ensure the highest level of conversion and accurately record and follow up on all lost business.
• To manage client information through the Rendezvous System ensuring this is relevant and timely.
• Prepare and collate final event details to hand over to the operational team within the correct timeframe period.
• Attend and support relevant trade fairs/exhibitions as requested.
• Participate in FAM trips, site inspections and client entertaining as requested.
• Attend and actively participate in daily sales and quarterly sales meetings.
• To be proactive, looking at new and lapsed data- cold and warm calling.
• Conduct regular client site visits and planning meetings.
• Be fully aware of the pricing structure and maximise opportunity during peak and trough periods.
• Be aware of key competitors and their strengths and weaknesses versus The Mermaid London
• Be fully aware of the up-selling opportunities to increase sales.
• Fully aware of market trends and adapting to industry changes.
Experience you will need:
• Two years minimum experience within a similar role and working with 300 pax plus events
• Proven track record on achieving personal sales targets
• London industry knowledge
• Client relationship management
• Proactive sales mindset
