About the Role: The Science Teacher will oversee the Science curriculum, ensuring it remains engaging, well-structured and reflective of current scientific understanding. You will work closely with colleagues to support high-quality teaching, maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment, and contribute to the wider life of the school. This role suits a teacher who is organised, collaborative and eager to shape Science provision in a school that values creativity, warmth and academic rigour. The candidate must be proactive, motivated and adaptable, with the ability to cope with a busy timetable.
Responsibilities:
- Review and update the Science curriculum and policy annually (EYFS, KS1, Year 3)
- Monitor discrete and cross-curricular Science teaching
- Ensure planning supports EAL, SEN and enrichment pupils
- Track pupil progress and adjust curriculum provision as needed
- Stay up to date with developments in Science education
- Attend relevant CPD and training
- Maintain and develop Science resources and equipment
- Take stock and place orders when required
- Ensure the Science Room is tidy, organised and clearly labelled
- Use resources efficiently and effectively
Person Specification: Skills and Attributes: We are looking for a teacher who is:
- Experienced in teaching science (2 years experience)
- Passionate about Science and able to inspire curiosity in young children
- Knowledgeable about primary Science pedagogy and curriculum design
- Warm, calm and confident in supporting colleagues
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- A strong communicator with a collaborative approach
