Purpose of the Position: To ensure all customer deliveries are completed in a professional manner. To ensure all driver tasks are completed at start and end of shift and all legislation is complied with.

Key Activities & Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that all start of shift checks are carried out and all defects / damage is reported.
  • To ensure that you are fully briefed for your run and you are issued with your run box containing all relevant keys and PODs.
  • To check you have all the PODs for the deliveries on your route.
  • To ensure you have all the relevant delivery guides.
  • To ensure you are legally compliant to carry out your day's work.
  • When delivering to a customer’s site ensure all goods are put in the correct storage areas, this will mean taking the goods to the relevant fridges and freezers within the restaurants.
  • Ensure all goods are handled with the correct care required.
  • Ensure any issues are reported to the Transport office at the time they occur.
  • When issued with Vanlogic make sure all deliveries are recorded and adequate photos are taken.
  • On return to the depot ensure all end of day checks are carried out.
  • Ensure vehicle is refuelled and cleaned.
  • On de-brief check in all PODs, customer keys and Vanlogic phone.
  • Complete driver dispatch sheet and VC40.

This Role Involves:

  • Ensuring your vehicle complies with legal requirements, reporting issues to your Transport office.
  • Ensure the security and accuracy of delivery of the loads in your charge.
  • Complying with Safe Loading and Health and Safety Laws at all times.
  • Communicating with external customers and liaising with internal customers where appropriate.
  • Following delivery instructions accurately and effectively.

The working week is an average of 48 hours over 17 weeks.
