About The Role

To lead and coordinate factory process trials for new and existing products, ensuring that manufacturing processes are safe, efficient, and capable of consistently producing high‑quality products that meet customer, regulatory, and commercial requirements.

The Process Technologist supports the successful scale‑up of products from kitchen development to full‑scale production while driving continuous process improvement.

As a Process Technologist, your key responsibilities will be

  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct factory trials for new products from development kitchens to pilot and full‑scale manufacturing.
  • Ensure all trials comply with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare trial documentation, including trial plans, recipes, and production instructions.
  • Record process parameters such as temperatures, p H, cooking/chilling times, consistency, filling weights, and line speeds.
  • Collect and analyse trial data to evaluate product quality and process performance
  • Troubleshoot processing issues encountered during trials and recommend corrective actions and complete the appropriate documentation.
  • Evaluate product yields, waste levels, production efficiency, and process capability.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase productivity, reduce costs, and minimise waste.
  • Prepare detailed trial reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Collate and manage product samples post‑trial for organoleptic assessment and laboratory testing/shelf life evaluation
  • Create Quality Attribute sheets for raw materials and finished products for the current and new products
  • Carry out ongoing process validation and reviews of existing processes and equipment to ensure site due diligence requirements are met and continuously improved
  • Lead raw material benchmarking activities, comparing supplier offerings to drive quality improvements and cost efficiencies
  • Carry out Taste panel of current and new product lines. Document findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure all recipe workflow projects are completed according to the defined critical path, with key milestones met on schedule and dependencies effectively managed.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, and company food safety procedures.
  • Work on any other projects as guided by the line manager.

  • Food manufacturing and processes knowledge of cook/chill operation
  • Accurate attention to detail & outstanding organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good numerical skills
  • Ability to multitask and work to deadlines
  • May require working flexible hours to support production schedules and factory trials.
