About The Role
The Logistics Operations Manager is responsible for leading the warehouse operation of a team of 12 during the depot's busiest operational period, while providing operational oversight of the transport function to ensure the safe and efficient completion of daily deliveries.
Shift Pattern:
Flexible start time from 2am - 5am from Tuesday to Saturday Morning - 9 hour shift (Flexibility required as weekend shifts are a requirement)
Key Activities & Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Oversee transport operations to ensure all deliveries are completed safely, on time, and in line with customer requirements.
- Manage and develop warehouse and transport teams, including supervisors, drivers, and warehouse operatives.
- Plan labour and resources to meet operational demand, particularly during peak trading periods.
- Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, picking accuracy, productivity, vehicle utilisation, and customer service performance.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, fleet, transport, and warehouse legislation, including driver hours and Working Time Directive requirements where applicable.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage stock accuracy through effective inventory control, cycle counting, and warehouse processes.
- Work closely with procurement, customer service, and other internal departments to resolve operational issues and improve service levels.
