Medics PCN is looking for a qualified GP to join our team on a salaried contract. Medics Primary Care Network is seeking an enthusiastic, forward‑thinking GP to become part of our multidisciplinary team under the NHS Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS).

Main duties of the job

  • Provide high‑quality, patient‑centred care across the PCN.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, pharmacists, mental health practitioners, and social prescribers, to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Conduct consultations, assessments, and follow‑ups with patients, utilising ARRS‑funded services to support patient needs.
  • Contribute to the management of chronic disease, health promotion, and disease prevention in line with best practices and PCN goals.
  • Support the development and implementation of new care pathways that align with ARRS objectives.

About us

The Medics Primary Care Network (PCN) serves a population of 64,570 patients residing across Luton in Bedfordshire and is a mature and established Limited Company. Working collaboratively with other partners to strengthen and support the delivery of Primary Care services. The PCN consists of five core GP practices: Woodland Avenue Practice, Medici Medical Practice, Gardenia & Marsh Farm Practice, Bell House Medical Centre, and Barton Hills Medical Group. Medics PCN has a dedicated network site where many of the MDT, personalised care team and clinicians work collaboratively to deliver a pro‑active approach to patient care.

Job responsibilities

  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self‑referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
  • Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.
  • Providing counselling and health education.
  • Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
  • Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
  • Undertaking home visiting sessions per week as required.

Qualifications

  • Qualified GP with full GMC registration and licence to practice.
  • PCN experience.
