MedHub is a CQC-registered private healthcare provider offering a range of medical services, including GP consultations, dermatology, menopause care, minor surgery, and health checks. We are seeking an experienced GP with a Special Interest in Dermatology to join our growing team and support our expanding private dermatology service. This role is ideal for a GP with additional training and experience in dermatology who is passionate about delivering expert dermatological care in a private healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert dermatology consultations for a range of skin conditions, including acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and skin infections.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage both common and complex dermatological conditions within the scope of primary care dermatology.
- Perform minor dermatological procedures, including cryotherapy, skin biopsies, and excisions where appropriate.
- Identify and refer patients requiring specialist secondary care input, including suspected skin cancers.
- Utilise dermoscopy for the assessment of pigmented lesions and skin cancer detection.
- Prescribe and manage dermatological treatments in line with current clinical guidelines and best practices, including topical and systemic therapies.
- Work collaboratively with other clinicians, including consultant dermatologists, aesthetic practitioners, and general practitioners, as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT).
- Support and educate patients on skin health, treatment plans, and preventative measures.
- Ensure high standards of clinical governance, including accurate documentation, audit participation, and compliance with MedHub policies and CQC requirements.
- Stay up to date with the latest dermatology research, treatments, and guidelines to enhance clinical practice.
Essential Requirements
- Must live within 1 hour of the clinic location.
- GMC registration with a licence to practise in the UK.
- Postgraduate training or certification in dermatology (e.g., a Postgraduate Diploma or MSc in Dermatology, or equivalent experience).
- Experience in primary care dermatology and managing a wide range of skin conditions.
- Competency in dermoscopy and lesion recognition for skin cancer screening.
- Ability to perform minor dermatological procedures, such as cryotherapy and skin biopsies, with a current DOPS certificate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach.
- Strong commitment to clinical governance, patient safety, and continuous professional development.
