Are you looking to take the next step in your care career or just looking for a change of pace? The Meath Epilepsy Charity, CQC rated GOOD, is looking for an enthusiastic Senior Support Worker to join our warm and friendly team!

We require team players with excellent communication skills who want to deliver a high level of care and support while maintaining safety standards at all times in line with company policies. Previous experience of care work is essential, and full training will be provided.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct care provision for all aspects of the individual residents' assessed needs in line with their care plan.
  • Supervising and managing support workers and bank staff, including their appraisals, supervisions, and induction where appropriate.
  • Supporting other senior staff and assisting in the implementation of management decisions.
  • Following all Policies and Procedures.
  • Assisting individual residents, where needed, with personal care.
  • Helping individual residents, where needed, to feed themselves.
  • Overseeing and helping in the serving and preparation of meals and drinks.
  • Communicating and conveying relevant information about the residents to team members to ensure the individual plan of care is regularly updated.
  • Reporting immediately to the senior staff in charge any accident or untoward incident that may occur to a resident, member of staff, or visitor.
  • Being aware of the steps to take in line with Safeguarding Adults at Risk Policies should an allegation of abuse be witnessed or made.
  • Attending 1:1 supervision meetings with your line manager every six weeks.
  • Being conversant with and implementing Meath policies and procedures.
  • Other tasks may be required for the proper performance of the job.

Essential skills include:

  • Taking responsibility and working well independently as well as part of a team.
  • Being flexible, reliable, and punctual.
  • Willingness to attend and participate in relevant training to ensure high operational and safety standards are maintained.
  • Maintaining a high degree of confidentiality regarding all at the Meath.

Desirable qualifications include being aware of CQC requirements and holding a relevant Health and Social Care Qualification or being willing to work towards a qualification. NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care is preferred, along with 2 years in Supervisory care.
