Develop your career with us! Are you hard working, do you enjoy being with people? The Meath Epilepsy Charity, CQC rated GOOD, is looking for an enthusiastic Waking Night Support Worker for 34.5 hours (3 shifts) to help care for our residents during the night and leading into the morning shifts.

We require team players with excellent communication skills who want to deliver a high level of care and support, whilst maintaining safety standards at all times in line with company policies. Previous experience of care work desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

The Role: This role is based in Godalming, Surrey. As a Senior Waking Night Support Worker, you will deliver person-centred care and support to our residents, in line with their personal care plans.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • To fulfil all duties of a Support Worker role, as well as the Senior Support Worker role.
  • Assist the manager with the management of the team and organise the team in their absence.
  • To supervise and manage support workers and bank staff, including their appraisals, supervisions and induction where appropriate.
  • To support other senior staff and assist in the implementation of management decisions.
  • To assist support workers with the maintenance of essential documentation.
  • Encourage communication to promote an open environment for discussion providing the opportunity for feedback.
  • To be available for on-call duties when required.
  • To take charge of the home as required. During the on-call period be responsible for the smooth running of the Meath, the welfare of the residents, staff and visitors.
  • To administer rescue medication and other prescribed required need medication.
  • To take charge of the Meath in an emergency and if necessary carry out an evacuation of the Meath in case of fire or other major incident.
  • The ability to work under pressure and resolve staffing levels and allocations which at times may become challenging.
  • To be able to work with your senior network of colleagues in a professional manner and utilising their skills when faced with challenges.

Salary: £17.55 to 19.11 per hour. Pay range depends on the shifts the successful candidates is scheduled to work.

Hours: 8:15pm - 7:45am (11.5 hour shifts).
