The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

You will support the day-to-day running of the MDU and DDU’s social media channels, working closely with our Social Media Strategy Adviser to ensure that our social media activity aligns with the MDU’s objectives and strategy. You will be creating content to provide value to our members, share news and updates from the MDU, showcase our medico and dento-legal expertise and build brand awareness.

From adapting press releases and articles into dynamic social content, to supporting our work with content creators, and collaborating with teams across the MDU to source new content ideas, you will play a vital part in engaging existing and prospective members and raising the profile of our brand.

Key accountabilities:
  • Create and manage content for each social media platform in line with our social media strategy.
  • Support the maintenance and growth of the MDU/DDU’s brand and profile as the UK’s leading voice on medico/dento-legal issues.
  • Monitor the MDU and DDU social inboxes and respond to queries.
  • As required, attend events on behalf of the MDU/DDU to capture social content.
  • Work with social content tools including graphic design and video editing tools, to create innovative content formats that will work on social media platforms, such as graphics, video and photos.
  • Collaborate with the MDU's Communications and Marketing departments to source ideas for content to support our sector work, public affairs and advocacy work, and other reactive events.
  • Support our work with social media content creators and high-profile members to help promote the MDU/DDU brand.
  • Constantly review the MDU’s presence on all channels: identifying risks to our presence, opportunities for new platform engagement, and present those recommendations accordingly.
  • Proactively identify social media content that may impact on the MDU business, negative, neutral and positive – and escalate those accordingly to the Head of Communications, and other senior colleagues.
  • Support Social Media Strategy Adviser with compiling organic social stats and top performing content for a monthly report.
  • Undertake such other tasks as may be delegated by the Head of Communications.
Experience, knowledge, skills and qualifications:

The post holder should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences, and should have a strong interest in social trends and particularly social video content. In addition, the post holder must be professional, able to work well in a team, show attention to detail and be able to work under time pressure. No formal experience is required but you should display a good understanding of social media platforms and the types of content that work for each. Experience using Canva, Kapwing or similar tools would be a bonus, but we will provide support and guidance to help the post holder develop these skills.
