Join the MOPAC – London’s criminal justice oversight body – to help safeguard the city and strengthen public trust. As an Audit Committee member, you will bring independent oversight to policing governance, advising the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) and the Metropolitan Police Commissioner on strategic risk, assurance, and finance matters.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide independent advice and scrutiny to the Mayor and Commissioner on policing strategy and risk management.
  • Review the Metropolitan Police Service’s financial reporting, audit and assurance functions.
  • Assist the Committee Chair in ensuring that the audit committee’s terms of reference are met and that its work is reviewed on an annual basis.
  • Help enhance public trust and confidence in the governance of policing in London.
Qualifications:
  • Independent of MOPAC and MPS with no conflict of interest.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance principles.
  • Clear interest in national and local policing and crime issues.
  • Relevant committee experience, especially in assurance, risk management, financial reporting and external audit.
  • Trusted, professional behaviour and highest standards of conduct and ethics.
