Thank you for your interest in a role at the MOPAC. We are excited to hear about your experiences.
Join us to make London a safer city for everyone.
We believe violence is preventable, not inevitable.
We have a NEW AND exciting opportunity, exclusively for Young People’s Action Group (YPAG) alumni. The opportunity is to join London’s Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) and support the delivery of the YPAG programme.
The YPAG is a vital part of the VRU, ensuring that the voices, opinions and ideas of young people are heard and used to influence policy, partnerships and funding decisions.
We are looking for individuals who have successfully completed the YPAG programme and understand the importance of amplifying the voices of young Londoners, while supporting them to lead meaningful change.
There are two positions available.
Each position will be on a 12-month contract and involve working 2.5 days a week (One post will be Monday to Wednesday and the other Wednesday to Friday). Successful candidates will be required to attend the office regularly and be willing to work regular evenings, and occasional weekends, and other unsocial hours to support programme delivery and events.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who has completed the YPAG Programme in the last three years and can bring current knowledge, experience and insight into the programme. We want individuals who are passionate about championing youth voice and participation. We are looking for individuals that have strong communication and interpersonal skills, who can work effectively as part of a team, and have experience supporting the planning, organisation and delivery of meetings, events or projects.
The main responsibilities of the role will be:
- Support the planning, coordination and delivery of YPAG sessions, workshops, events and social action projects, during evening and occasional weekends.
- Support The YPAG TEAM during the working day in providing practical and administrative support to ensure the effective operation of the YPAG programme, including maintaining records, databases and participant information.
- Collect and maintain feedback, outcomes and engagement data to support wider team evaluation and continuous programme improvement.
- Act as a positive role model for young people, encouraging participation, inclusion and personal development of current YPAG members.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding and engagement of new YPAG members where required.
- To support delivery to ensure young people are engaged with and influencing the VRU’s work & partners.
Application Process
This role is open to YPAG Alumni only. All other applications will be disregarded.
Candidates must submit their CV and employment history and answer (using around 1,500 characters per answer) the supplementary questions which are:
- Tell us about a time when you helped ensure the views, ideas, or experiences of young people were heard and acted upon. Why is youth voice important, and how would you support the YPAG to influence and support the work of the Violence Reduction Unit?
- Please provide an example of when you supported the delivery of a project, event, workshop or meeting. What practical or administrative tasks did you undertake and how did they contribute to its success?
- This role involves regular evening and office-based work, occasional weekend commitments, and responding to changing priorities. How would you manage your workload and other commitments to ensure you consistently meet the expectations of the role?
