We seek an outstanding, well-qualified and enthusiastic candidate to teach English up to and including A-Level. Experience or interest in teaching Media Studies would be welcome, but is not essential. The successful candidate will be expected to teach through the age range and contribute to the exciting and busy extra-curricular life of the school. This post would be suitable for ECTs as well as more experienced teachers.

We have an incredibly warm and dynamic staff with a huge passion for the teaching of English. The English department currently consists of five members of staff who believe in working collaboratively to ensure the very best outcomes for our students. We prepare students for GCSE study of both English Language and English Literature and have a very impressive set of GCSE and A level results, year on year. At A-Level the study of English Literature remains one of our most popular option choices. We are a progressive department and strive to support our staff in their continued professional development. We believe in fostering positive relationships with our students and place huge value in inspiring their enjoyment and love of literature. We believe in creating educational opportunities outside of the classroom and ensure that each year our students enjoy an engaging mix of extra-curricular activities and trips. This culminates in our famous annual trip to Stratford to witness wonderful performances by the RSC and take part in a workshop series devised for us by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.
