Job Summary: We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Lead to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis (36.75 hours per week). Gibraltar Road Nursing Home is seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead to join its management team. The service is a 10-bedded nursing home supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex health needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled nurse with strong leadership abilities to make a meaningful impact within a specialist learning disability service. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Lead Nurse to oversee patient care and coordinate clinical operations. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring high standards of nursing practice, delivering exceptional care, and leading a team of healthcare professionals. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated nurse to contribute to quality healthcare delivery while advancing their leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong clinical leadership across the nursing home
  • Oversee clinical governance, audits and regulatory compliance
  • Monitor and review care plans and risk assessments
  • Maintain high standards in medication management, including monthly changeover, audits and ordering
  • Manage complex needs including epilepsy, diabetes, end‑of‑life care, mental health conditions, stoma and catheter care
  • Chair MDT meetings and coordinate with external professionals
  • Work closely with families to support individual needs
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and ensure concerns are actioned
  • Ensure effective infection prevention and control
  • Support, supervise and develop nursing and support staff
  • Lead medication competency development for staff
  • Support NMC revalidation and professional development
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement
  • Provide clinical support to wider services when required

About You:

  • Registered Nurse (RNLD preferred; RGN/RMN with LD experience considered)
  • Minimum 2 years post‑registration experience
  • Strong clinical assessment and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Able to prioritise, delegate and work effectively under pressure
  • IT literate and flexible with a positive approach
