As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take ownership of complex upstream oil well intervention tools from feasibility through to deployment. You will:
- Lead concept development for intervention and completion tools
- Analyse hydrostatic pressures, load paths, fatigue and failure mechanisms
- Perform advanced stress and load calculations
- Conduct tolerance stack‑up studies and apply GD&T principles
- Develop complex SolidWorks assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings
- Design and oversee validation test equipment
- Participate hands‑on in workshop build and testing
- Lead technical design reviews internally and with customers
- Support field trials and first‑off installations
- Deliver projects through structured engineering stage gates
This is full lifecycle engineering with visible accountability.
Essential (Non‑Negotiable)
- Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years upstream oilfield downhole tools experience
- Direct oil well intervention tool design exposure
- Strong hydrostatic and pressure containment design capability
- Advanced stress and load calculation expertise
- Tolerance stack‑up analysis experience
- Strong SolidWorks proficiency
- Experience taking tools from concept through manufacture and deployment
Applicants without upstream oil well intervention experience will not be considered.
