The Role
- Lead & optimise a high-volume, fast-paced semi-automated eFulfilment operation, managing a workforce of at least 150+ operatives across multiple shifts.
- Drive transformational change, further embedding automation, streamlining workflows, and ensuring operational scalability.
- Deliver operational excellence, implementing best practices, KPI-driven performance management, and data-led decision-making.
- Enhance workforce productivity, fostering a high-performance culture, developing future leaders, and strengthening employee engagement.
- Manage P&L and cost efficiency, ensuring commercial targets and operational budgets are achieved.
- Collaborate cross-functionally, working closely with senior leadership, supply chain, IT, finance, and customer services teams.
- Lead strategic projects, including automation integration, process reengineering, and operational expansion.
What Weβre Looking For
- Leadership experience in large-scale fulfilment/logistics operations within a retailer, in-house logistics function, or third-party logistics provider (3PL).
- Hands-on expertise in semi-automated or automated distribution centres, with strong knowledge of pick, pack & despatch operations.
- Track record of managing a minimum of 150+ operatives, ensuring productivity, engagement, and operational efficiency.
- Operational transformation & project management expertise, including automation rollouts, process improvements, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Commercial acumen, including P&L responsibility, cost control, and budgeting.
- Mix of experience from both large corporate & agile SME/scale-up environments β ability to balance structure with hands-on problem-solving.
- Future leader mindset β ambition and capability to step into an Operations Director role as the business continues to expand.
