We are recruiting for a proactive and hands-on Estates Assistant to join our dedicated Estates team at the Marlowe Theatre. Based across our venues, including the Marlowe Theatre and the historic Poor Priests’ Hospital, you’ll help provide a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment for our audiences, staff, and visiting companies. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and making a visible impact each day.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance to maintain the quality and safety of our buildings and grounds.
- Support inspections and compliance programs and help keep records accurate and up to date.
- Unlock premises and support emergency procedures; assist with security and general caretaking duties.
- Utilise practical skills in areas such as decorating, plumbing, carpentry or electrics and work with hand and power tools.
- Contribute to a team-based environment across our venues, ensuring a consistent, safe and welcoming experience for stakeholders.
Qualifications and skills:
- Good level of practical skills in decorating, plumbing, carpentry or electrics.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
- Some knowledge of building systems and health and safety regulations is advantageous.
