The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring that all products are received, organized, stored, and distributed efficiently and safely. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (subject to change based on business needs). On occasion, overtime may be required, which may include weekends.

Essential Functions

  • Check products received against invoices and purchase orders.
  • Inspect all date-coded products for shelf life upon arrival and rotate existing stock accordingly.
  • Record all invoices and credits accurately in the receiving book.
  • Sort, organize, and store items in their proper locations.
  • Prepare and organize products for floor merchandisers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment at all times.
  • Safely unload products from delivery trucks upon arrival.
  • Regularly check product code dates and notify management of any quality or expiry concerns.
  • Organize and prepare the warehouse for quarterly inventory counts.

Other Responsibilities

  • Assist with receiving products through the front door as required.
  • Remove damaged or outdated products to the designated area.
  • Keep aisles clear and remove any safety hazards or debris.
  • Notify the Store Manager when products arrive.
  • Ensure the warehouse is secure at all times.
  • Stack and organize large bulk items safely and efficiently.

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Positive attitude and solid work ethic.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions accurately.
  • Physically capable of bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching as required.
  • Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to push and pull four-wheel equipment loaded with product.
  • Experience operating manual pallet jacks, walkie stackers, and power electric pallet jacks is preferred.

The successful applicant must complete all required training and demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
