The Marketing Pod (Pod for short) is a B2B specialist marketing agency. We’re based just outside Birmingham in the green and pleasant lands of the Umberslade Estate. A cheerful and supportive team of 40, each with our own specialisms, we are now looking for a Senior HubSpot solutions engineer.

The person we are seeking will be interested in B2B tech or clean energy, keen to work for a business that takes its ethical and environmental responsibilities seriously, and passionate about making a positive difference. Responsibilities

The role will be based at our office on Pound House Lane, Solihull, B94 5DF, with hybrid working available. Monthly attendance at Pod HQ is required as a minimum.

You will be responsible for:

  • Support the CRM & Data proposition at The Marketing Pod including supporting growth of the service area, new product development, new business and managing the day to day deliverables of the data and CRM service.
  • Hands‑on delivery of client data projects including recommendations on marketing data strategy and marketing insights.
  • Supporting CRM / martech / salestech personnel to lead on our data and CRM proposition.
  • Supporting the day to day management of B2B marketing data within CRM environments including:
    • Data acquisition/build – via data suppliers or bespoke building using open source or third party data and tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator/Cognism
    • Segmentation to build accurate and highly targeted campaign ready data lists
    • CRM management (campaign tracking, data governance, data transformation and formatting etc)
    • Compliance management and reporting
    • Data visualisation and reporting utilising a suite of tools
    • Data driven recommendations to enhance campaign and overall marketing performance through data analysis and making recommendations
    • Account and contact profiling using open-source and third party data
    • Representing the data team for our clients in cross-team collaboration and workflows
  • Supporting on client projects and proposing solutions aligned with client goals, business requirements and processes:
    • Rolling out proposed solutions
    • Support for the team to conduct setup/Optimisation of CRM and MarTech systems for clients
    • Assist in developing best practices in the space
    • Technology Integrations: Be involved in integration projects from a systems specialist point of view and work closely with our developers, other Podsters and clients
  • Working for the Head of Data & CRM alongside our Solutions Engineer supporting on client projects and proposing solutions aligned with client goals, business requirements and processes:
    • Understand client needs and processes
    • Define, strategise and implement marketing, sales and service processes and automation programs
    • Propose solutions for improving or configuring technology
    • Ensure the right solutions are being used for the client’s needs, goals and business strategy across the sales, marketing and service tech stack
    • Data Migration
    • Quality control
    • Configuring technology solutions:
      • Support complex technology configuration projects
      • Rolling out proposed solutions
      • Setup/Optimisation of CRM and MarTech systems for clients
      • Assist in developing best practices in the space
    • Workflow development
    • Training:
      • Training on the solutions to internal staff and clients
      • Support being certified with our key technology partners
    • Technology Integrations:
      • Be involved in integration projects from a systems specialist point of view and work closely with our developers, other Podsters and clients
      • Understand the platforms that integrate with HubSpot out of the box (i.e. Gmail, Vidyard, Salesforce and other connect partners)
      • Perform technology audits
      • Analyse and provide recommendations on how clients can follow their technology best practice
      • Feed into the technology audit template and process and help define and improve it as tech releases new features

Work with our account managers, and business development managers alongside the full Pod team to match client needs, goals and strategy with the right HubSpot solution. Conduct HubSpot demos to prospective and existing clients and scope projects to onboard HubSpot, Implement Custom HubSpot Solutions and provide ongoing support for HubSpot where needed for those clients.

Reporting and analytics:

Help define how success is measured on each tech solution ensuring integrated reporting across the tech solutions to enable closed-loop reporting. Provide reporting and insights to the pod insights team which can be provided back to clients. Build and update both HubSpot and external dashboards/reports using HubSpot data where required.

Line management and team development:

Take direct line management responsibility for CRM and data team members. This includes setting clear objectives aligned to Pod’s commercial and client goals, conducting regular 1:1s, overseeing performance and development plans, providing structured feedback, and supporting career progression. Ensure high standards of delivery, utilisation and billability across managed team members, proactively identifying capability gaps and supporting training or recruitment where required. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement within the data and CRM function.

Leadership and representation:

Act as a visible leader for the CRM and data function, representing the team internally across Pod and externally with clients and partners. Champion the CRM and data proposition in cross-team planning, commercial discussions and strategic initiatives, ensuring the function is positioned as a core driver of client value and business growth. Provide confident, senior-level representation in client meetings, workshops and pre‑sales environments.

Key Skills

  • 2+ years of HubSpot
  • 3+ years experience in a digital agency/consultancy or a consulting/specialist role working with internal or external clients throughout the whole process (consulting, solution building, implementation and training).
  • Solid knowledge and experience administering the HubSpot platform including custom objects; HubSpot APIs & integrations with other platforms (essential)
  • Working with development teams to create bespoke solutions
  • Experience onboarding and or managing complex HubSpot installations running HubSpot Enterprise CRM Suite
  • Experience working with the HubSpot Design Manager and/or command line interface
  • Excellent command of English, with exceptional writing and communication skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to present your work and articulate succinctly. Adept at high‑level client presentations
  • A solid understanding of Inbound Marketing / Customer Experience Marketing
  • Experience querying and updating CRM objects and schema using APIs
