OOMODA & JAECOO are new brands built by Chery Group, a leading Chinese automobile company. OMODA & JAECOO operate separately from other Chery Group brands. The business scope covers the R&D, production and sales of passenger cars. Chery has always pursued a technology‑driven strategy, becoming the first Chinese passenger vehicle enterprise to master core technologies such as engine, gearbox, chassis, platform and new energy, and the first to export vehicle manufacturing technology worldwide. Chery has deepened its globalization through product, localization and talent strategy. After more than 20 years, Chery’s sales and services network covers over 80 countries and regions, serving 11 million consumers worldwide.

As the Product Specialist, you will serve as the primary subject‑matter expert, specification guardian and administrative anchor for a designated vehicle model across the Omoda and Jaecoo portfolios. This role focuses on commercial product configuration and feature literacy rather than engineering design. You will own the lifecycle data for your assigned model, ensuring total accuracy across build sheets, digital configurators and industry databases, while providing critical administrative and compliance support to the wider product and operations teams.

  • Product Championship
    • Act as the definitive local expert on your assigned vehicle model’s lifecycle, variant structures and future updates.
    • Maintain flawless accuracy of all vehicle equipment lists, trim levels, optional packs, color combinations and standalone options.
    • Cross‑reference factory build sheets against marketing materials, price lists and digital configurators to ensure consumer‑facing data is 100 % correct.
    • Conduct specification audits against competitor models to identify product gaps and packaging opportunities.
  • Feature Literacy & Commercial Product
    • Technology‑user expertise: Develop operational knowledge of user‑facing vehicle features, including infotainment, connectivity and advanced driver‑assistance systems (ADAS).
    • Commercial EV competency: Maintain a fluent understanding of everyday electric‑vehicle attributes such as range, charging speeds and connector compatibility to support sales and fleet queries.
    • Factory liaison: Review technical option codes and engineering update bulletins from global headquarters, translating them into commercial product updates for the local team.
  • Team Administration & Operations
    • Industry database management: Own accurate, timely input of vehicle data into internal tracking systems and external industry benchmarking tools.
    • Cross‑functional administration: Provide administrative support to bridge the local product department with sales operations, aftersales and regional networks.
    • Documentation control: Draft and distribute official product briefing notes, trim walk guides and variant comparison sheets for internal and dealer networks.
  • Regulatory Support & Homologation
    • Regulation compliance coordination: Assist the product team in tracking and organizing regulatory paperwork required for local market type‑approval.
    • Build verification: Audit inbound factory order configurations against local market compliance requirements to identify and rectify specification errors before shipment.

Qualifications

  • Automotive experience (Required): 2–3 years within an automotive OEM, national sales company, fleet provider or major dealer group, ideally in product planning, vehicle ordering, distribution, product development or a product specialist role.
  • Engineering background (Required): hold an engineering degree and possess a thorough understanding of automotive engineering.
  • Homologation exposure (Preferred but Not Essential): Prior administrative exposure to vehicle type‑approval, emissions documentation or dealings with automotive regulatory bodies.
  • High attention to detail: Exceptional administrative rigor; affinity for data matrices, spreadsheet data and complex option codes.
  • Clear communication: Ability to synthesize complex specification data into clean, easy‑to‑understand product guides.
  • Organizational agility: Capable of prioritizing operational and administrative tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
