Proximity Recruitment are partnering with a growing and ambitious business in Ipswich to recruit an experienced

E-Commerce Manager .

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded digital professional to take ownership of a rapidly evolving e-commerce platform, driving online sales performance, customer experience, and digital growth. 4 days a week in the offices, 1 day working from home.

Working cross-functionally across Marketing, Sales, IT, Operations, Finance and Procurement, you'll play a key role in shaping the online proposition, managing product data, promotional activity, website development and ongoing optimisation.

  • E-Commerce Platform & Product Management
  • Own the day-to-day management and performance of the company's e-commerce portal.
  • Maintain a highly accurate and engaging online product catalogue, including pricing, availability, imagery and product information.
  • Lead the onboarding and integration of products from newly acquired businesses into the existing platform.
  • Continuously improve product content and imagery to ensure consistency and maximise conversion.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing to develop compelling product descriptions and digital assets.
  • Promotions, Pricing & Commercial Performance
  • Plan, execute and optimise online promotions, seasonal campaigns and homepage merchandising activity.
  • Monitor competitor pricing and market trends, recommending pricing adjustments to maximise commercial performance.
  • Analyse key e-commerce metrics including sales, traffic, conversion rates and customer behaviour.
  • Produce regular performance reports and actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Website & Digital Development
  • Play a key role in the ongoing website redevelopment programme.
  • Ensure e-commerce functionality aligns with broader digital strategy and customer experience objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of new features, integrations and enhancements that drive online engagement and revenue.
  • Work closely with IT and external partners to improve website performance, security and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate SKU and product data across all online channels.
  • Partner with Procurement and Inventory teams to ensure stock levels and availability are accurately reflected online.
  • Support continuous improvement of e-commerce processes, systems and data management.
  • Customer Experience & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Continuously optimise the online customer journey from product discovery through to checkout.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, IT and Operations to ensure e-commerce activity supports wider business objectives.
  • Support the successful launch of new products and services onto the platform.

About You

We're looking for an analytical, commercially focused e-commerce professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys driving measurable results.

  • Proven experience within an E‑Commerce Manager or similar digital trading role.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, CMS systems, web analytics and online merchandising.
  • Experience using tools such as Google Analytics to drive data‑led decision making.
  • Knowledge of SEO, SEM and broader digital marketing strategies.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering e-commerce growth.
  • Experience managing product catalogues, pricing strategies and promotional campaigns.
  • Previous experience integrating products from acquisitions or multiple business units into a single platform would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience managing KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Customer‑focused mindset with a passion for improving online user experience.
