The Market Bosworth School is seeking to appoint an inspirational Teacher to join our experienced English team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the success of the school and will be integral to our future development.

The Market Bosworth School is very proud of its students and staff. We have excellent academic standards and work hard to create a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all. We have been consistently rated as an "Outstanding" school by Ofsted, in 2009, 2012, 2018 and most recently 2024, where inspectors found that "The Market Bosworth School has high expectations of what pupils can achieve. Pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), consistently meet these expectations. They achieve extremely well. Pupils' outcomes at the end of key stage 4 are exceptional."

This is an exciting time for the School, as we build on our now established GCSE achievements, where we have consistently achieved results within the top 5% of all schools. For our most recent 2026 results, an incredible 96% of all our students achieved a grade 4 or above in English.

Curriculum and Teaching:

  • KS3 students have seven English lessons and KS4 have nine English lessons across their two-week timetable.
  • Students are taught in mixed ability groups in Year 7 (subject to change) and ability-based groups in Years 8, 9, 10, and 11.
  • KS4 follows the Eduqas exam board specifications at GCSE.
  • Lessons are taught in fully resourced English classrooms, equipped with interactive whiteboards, and students have access to department Google Chromebooks to enhance curriculum delivery.
  • Learning also takes place in a well-stocked, spacious Library, with students benefitting from a fortnightly library lesson to promote reading for pleasure.

The department takes every opportunity to enrich the curriculum for students; they hold a number of lunchtime and after-school sessions to support learning and have arranged a wide range of enrichment activities, including author visits, theatre performances, and writing competitions.

The English team embrace opportunities to attend courses to enhance teaching and learning for the department. Additionally, the department benefits from Eduqas trained examiners to support specialized teaching and learning at GCSE. Our results are consistently significantly above local and national averages.

The English team are a friendly, welcoming department with high aspirations and a proven track record of excellent achievement. We hope that the new member of our team will share our values, and we look forward to working successfully together in the future.
