We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Duty Manager to join our growing team at the Marine Hotel, Paignton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hospitality professional who enjoys variety, thrives in a guest-focused environment, and is passionate about delivering high standards.

Working closely with the wider hotel team, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operation, supporting departments across the hotel while ensuring guests receive outstanding service from arrival through to departure. Located on the beautiful Paignton seafront, the Marine Hotel is a welcoming 53-bedroom hotel that combines traditional hospitality with a fantastic coastal location. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DUTY AT OUR HOTEL

  • Leading by example across the hotel, ensuring guests receive a warm welcome and exceptional service throughout their stay.
  • Supporting and overseeing the Food & Beverage operation, helping the team deliver a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.
  • Welcoming coach parties and group bookings, ensuring arrivals, departures, and meal services run seamlessly.
  • Carrying out bedroom inspections and public area checks to ensure housekeeping standards are consistently maintained.
  • Supporting the reception team when required, assisting with guest check-ins, check-outs, enquiries, and reservations.
  • Acting as a key holder for the hotel, taking responsibility for the smooth operation of the property during your shifts.
  • Coaching and supporting team members across departments, helping to maintain a positive and guest-focused culture.
  • Resolving guest queries and operational challenges with confidence, ensuring issues are addressed quickly and professionally.
