The Maples is a friendly residential care home in Marston Green, Birmingham, for adults with a learning disability. We are looking for kind, reliable people to join our team as Support Workers. If you are patient, good with people and want a job that really matters, we would love to hear from you. We are committed to value-based recruiting, meaning care experience is desirable but not essential, training is provided.
What we offer
- £12.71 per hour
- Full-time and part-time contracts (guaranteed hours) and bank contracts are available
- Day shifts (short and long days) and nights available
- Paid induction and the Care Certificate, with further qualifications options as you progress
- A small, supportive team and regular supervision
What you will do
- Support service users with everyday life: personal care, meals, medication, keeping their home clean and tidy and health and safety compliance
- Help people get out and about: shopping, clubs, days out and seeing friends and family
- Encourage people to build skills and independence, and to make their own choices
- Follow each person's support plan and keep clear daily records
What we are looking for
- Kindness, patience and respect for people's choices
- Reliability - turning up on time for every shift
- Good spoken and written English and willingness to learn
- The right to work in the UK.
