Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality care to our residents. This role involves supervising care staff, developing personalised care plans, and ensuring the delivery of compassionate support in a safe and respectful environment. The Senior Care Assistant will also be responsible for assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and maintaining the dignity of residents. A valid driving licence is desirable to facilitate transportation needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise care staff to ensure the delivery of outstanding care services
  • Assist residents with personal care, mobility, and daily activities in accordance with individual care plans
  • Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families
  • Monitor residents\’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals as necessary
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
  • Foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere that promotes residents\’ independence and dignity
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, encouraging professional development and teamwork
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the care environment
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure coordinated care

Experience

  • Proven experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care
  • Supervising or leadership experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of care planning processes and ability to adapt plans based on individual needs
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Competence in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes

Pay: £12.90-£13.90 per hour
