Set in the idyllic village of Sway, in the heart of the New Forest National Park, The Manor at Sway is a beautifully restored, boutique-style hotel with bags of charm and a big heart. We’re an independent, family-owned business known for our warm hospitality, great food, music nights, and stylish events – including weddings.
We’re on the lookout for a Front of House Supervisor who’s passionate about people, service, and making guests feel right at home.
What’s the role?
As our Front of House Supervisor, you’ll be a key member of a close-knit team, helping to lead the day-to-day operations of both Reception and Restaurant areas. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who’s calm under pressure, thrives in a busy (and sometimes quieter!) environment, and genuinely enjoys delivering great service.
Whether you’re welcoming guests, shaking cocktails, or recommending the best walking trails in the New Forest, your energy and professionalism will help shape unforgettable guest experiences.
- Reception Responsibilities
- Check-in/check-out guests with a smile and a touch of charm
- Manage bookings over the phone and email – selling the dream of a countryside getaway
- Keep communication flowing with housekeeping, kitchen, and maintenance teams
- Be the go-to person for local tips, restaurant recommendations, and hidden gems in the Forest
- Stay on top of admin, follow-ups, and the smooth running of front-of-house tasks
- Restaurant Service
- Deliver excellent table service across breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon teas, and events (including weddings)
- Take food and drink orders confidently and knowledgeably
- Shake cocktails, pour wine with flair, and make a mean cappuccino
- Support the team in maintaining high hygiene and health & safety standards
- Keep workspaces tidy, calm, and guest-ready at all times
Who we’re looking for
- You’ve got hospitality experience (bonus points if it includes both restaurant and reception work)
- You’re friendly, confident, and comfortable giving direction when needed
- You love working as part of a team but are also self-motivated and reliable
- You bring a can-do attitude, attention to detail, and a sense of humour to your work

- We’re based in Sway – commutable from Bournemouth, Southampton and surrounding areas
- The local train station is just 400 metres away, but having a car makes life easier
- Shifts are 7–8 hours long (no regular split shifts)
