We're seeking an experienced Research Impact and Engagement Manager to help shape and deliver our impact agenda within the

Faculty of Arts and Humanities .

Reporting to the Head of Research Excellence, you'll work with researchers, academic leaders and professional services colleagues to maximise the reach, significance and value of our research, strengthen impact capability, and support preparations for future research assessment exercises.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our research environment and contribute to the University's ambition to deliver research excellence with impact.

  • You Can Expect To
  • Lead and deliver impact strategies, plans and initiatives across designated disciplines.
  • Support researchers to develop, evidence and maximise the impact of their research.
  • Build impact literacy through training, guidance, resources and events.
  • Develop effective approaches for capturing, monitoring and reporting research impact.
  • Work collaboratively across the University and with external partners to strengthen research engagement and innovation.

What We're Looking For

  • Significant experience supporting research impact within higher education or a comparable environment.
  • Strong understanding of the UK research and impact landscape, including research assessment frameworks.
  • Experience of developing impact strategies and impact case studies.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to translate complex information into practical advice and actions.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with experience of leading projects and working across organisational boundaries.
  • Experience within arts and humanities disciplines would be advantageous.

The Research Impact and Engagement Manager is part of the Research Excellence Team within the Research and Innovation Directorate.

The team supports the University's ambition to deliver excellent research with impact, working across faculties and institutes to strengthen research culture, research assessment, and research impact .
