Manchester Metropolitan University's Estates Operations Team is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team of engineers delivering reactive and planned maintenance services across the campus. This role is ideal for an active, self‑motivated individual who enjoys working with a variety of people and can manage and prioritise their own workload.

About the Role

Reporting to the Electrical Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Maintenance Engineer will complete a variety of electrical maintenance tasks on the systems installed in residential and academic buildings, including general and emergency lighting, lighting control, and small‑power and electrical supplies to specialist systems. The team also delivers an out‑of‑hours service, responding to emergency and business‑critical issues with additional salary contributions for on‑call staff.

About You

Applicants should be proficient in all aspects of electrical maintenance and be capable of managing and prioritising their own workload. Excellent oral and written communication skills, and a willingness to interact with a variety of customers across university departments, are essential.

Working Hours

The working pattern is Monday to Friday, 08:45–16:30.
